First cohort of 50 students to be admitted in the 2026/2027 academic session
AMIZI, ABIA STATE, NIGERIA — 17 August 2026 — The Council of Legal Education has approved Amadeus University to commence its LL.B. programme from the 2026/2027 academic session, with an initial quota of 50 students for the 100 Level intake.
The approval was granted at the Council’s Third Quarter Meeting held on Thursday, 13 August 2026, following a facilities verification and accreditation exercise conducted at the University earlier in the year.
With the approval, Amadeus University is cleared to admit students into the LL.B. programme. Council approval is a prerequisite for Nigerian universities seeking to offer the LL.B. degree and follows an assessment of key requirements, including law library resources, lecture facilities, moot court provision, academic staffing and governance arrangements.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Amadeus University, Professor Henry Eke, welcomed the approval, saying:
“The Council’s panel inspected our lecture halls, our library and the credentials of the academic staff appointed to teach this programme. Their standards are the standards our graduates will be measured against for the rest of their careers, and we welcome the scrutiny. We will receive our first law students in the 2026/2027 session.”
The Founder of Amadeus University, Dr Godwin Nwabunka, said the approval represented another step in the University’s commitment to expanding access to quality higher education.
“Amadeus University was established on the conviction that access to quality higher education is a reliable route out of poverty. I congratulate the University community, and I thank the Council for the rigour it brought to the exercise.”
Applications for the 2026/2027 academic session are open. Prospective candidates should select Amadeus University as their institution of choice through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) or change their institution to Amadeus University through the JAMB Change of Institution process.
